The Benefits of Double Glazing

The technology that is given the name of insulated glazing is commonly referred as double glazing. In this technology, two panes of glass are used, keeping different reasons in mind. These reasons are actually the benefits that we can avail from this technology.

How does it work?

In single glazing, only a single glass pane applied and the drawback is that noise and heat, both can surpass it easily.
On the other hand, there is double glazing where two panes are used with a slight gap between them. This gap is either vacuum or filled with a gas called, "Argon". The vacuum and the gas preset in double glazed sliding doors and double glazed sliding windows automatically reduces the amount of heat transferred from one side to another. Doors and windows that have this system in them are often referred as IGU or insulated glass units.

BENEFITS

A more comfortable home

The good thing about this technology is that it works well both in hot and cool areas. In hot areas, it prevents heat from getting transferred into your room, whereas in cooler areas, it stops warmness from escaping out of the room. This way in both these areas, you get a more comfortable home to live in and this happens to be the first benefit.

A quieter home

With double glazed sliding doors and double glazed sliding windows, you get a quieter and more peaceful place to live. The reason is that the gas (Argon) present between two panes thickens the sound waves and therefore disabling them from crossing the second pane. This could include annoying noises barking dogs, loud air-conditioners, noisy neighbors, aircraft noise, traffic noise, nearby pubs and clubs, etc.

Other benefits include –

•Lowered Energy bills
•A more secure home
•Reduced Condensation
•Enhances home’s value
•Reduced carbon footprint
